Caron Zimri's masters work featured in UCT News

06 Aug 2023

UCT News explores study by Caron Zimri which reveals that intimate partner violence (that incessantly plagues women in South Africa) can lead to traumatic brain injury. Her research that spotlights the possible lifelong physical effects of abuse is explored

Member of Unsettling Knowledge Production Caron Zimri was interviewed by UCT News about her masters work. The article is titled "Women’s Month: ‘SA women are in pain'",

In this article she states that she has "always been fascinated by how the brain works and with my research I want to draw fellow researchers, healthcare workers and civil society to one thing – social issues like IPV and other forms of domestic violence cannot be separated from the field of neuropsychology"

Her research included approximately 81 women aged 18 and older, most of whom live in low- to-middle income communities, as well as shelters and safe havens for women and girls across Cape Town.
